Who we are

Syarikat Haji Yacob Tarudin (“SHYT”, “we”) is a contractor based at No. 2, Simpang 38, Jalan Kecil Sungai Bera, Kg Sungai Bera, Seria KB1933, Negara Brunei Darussalam. We are responsible for the personal data we collect through this website, our online forms, email, telephone and messaging apps. We handle personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Order, 2025 of Brunei Darussalam.

What we collect

• When you contact us by phone, email or message: your name, contact details and anything you tell us in your message.
• When you use Borang Sampah or another of our online forms: the details the form asks for, such as your name, address, phone number and collection request.
• When you give us feedback through our feedback form: your rating and comments, the service you used, your name and area if you give them, how you want your name shown, an optional phone number or email, and whether you agree to your feedback being shared. To stop spam, we also keep a scrambled code made from your IP address, which cannot be turned back into the address.
• When you apply for a job: the information in your CV and any documents you send.
• When you visit this website: we do not ask you to log in or register. Our hosting provider processes basic technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and keep it secure. If you accept cookies, we also collect information about how you use the site, such as which pages you visit, how you found us and the type of device you use.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiries and prepare quotations.
• To arrange, provide and manage our services, including waste collection.
• To improve our services and, only if you agree, to share your feedback on our website and social media with your name shown as you chose. Your phone number or email is never published. You can ask us to remove your feedback at any time.
• To assess job applications and contact shortlisted applicants.
• To meet our legal, contractual and safety obligations.
• To keep this website running and secure.
• If you accept cookies, to understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it.

We only use your personal data for the purpose you gave it to us, or for a related purpose you would reasonably expect. We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only when needed, with:

• service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, website analytics, online forms and email;
• government departments and clients, where this is needed to deliver a contracted service or required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires. CVs from unsuccessful applicants are kept for up to 12 months in case a suitable role comes up, unless you ask us to delete yours sooner.

Cookies

Our hosting provider may set a small, strictly necessary cookie to protect the site from automated attacks. This cookie is always on.

With your permission, we also use analytics cookies. They tell us how many people visit, which pages they look at and how they found us, for example through a search engine, social media or a link in one of our emails. The information is grouped and does not identify you by name. We do not use cookies for advertising.

When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. No analytics cookies are set unless you click Accept. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings, which is also at the bottom of every page.

Links to maps, messaging and social media take you to other websites, which have their own privacy policies.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and how it has been used;
• correct personal data that is wrong or out of date;
• stop using your personal data, where you have given consent.

We will reply as soon as reasonably possible. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide a particular service.
